  • To help students understand the skills expected in the professional environment.
  • To encourage students to identify areas for further learning and development.
  • To provide students with exposure to assessment methods used beyond regular academic examinations.
  • To encourage continuous learning and professional development among students.

The assessment covered various areas related to quantitative ability, analytical thinking, communication, personal competencies, financial understanding, accountancy, economics and general awareness.

Participation

A total of 45 students registered for the ILNET assessment, and all 45 students participated in the test.

The Institute recorded 100% student attendance for the assessment. The active participation of students reflects their willingness to engage in initiatives that contribute to their professional and career development.

The assessment was conducted under the guidance and coordination of the concerned representatives of JDBIMS and Imarticus Learning Pvt. Ltd.

Conduct of the Assessment

The assessment was conducted on 24 August 2026 at Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

The test was conducted by Prof. Prabodh Nayak, Senior Faculty AVP Imarticus Mumbai and Mr. Jeet Dhakan from Imarticus Learning Pvt. Ltd. The students were provided with the necessary instructions regarding the assessment process before the commencement of the test.

The assessment was designed to provide students with exposure to multiple areas of employability that are relevant to management education and professional careers.

The smooth conduct of the assessment was facilitated through coordination between the Institute, students and the Imarticus Learning team.

Areas Covered in the Assessment

The ILNET assessment covered eight broad areas:

  • Precision and Numbers – numerical ability and quantitative problem-solving.
  • Analytical Patterns – logical thinking and analytical reasoning.
  • Personal Competencies – workplace-related personal and behavioural competencies.
  • Words That Work – language and communication skills.
  • The Big Picture – general awareness, business and current developments.
  • The Fiscal Edge – financial concepts and understanding.
  • Core Accountancy – fundamental accounting concepts.
  • Micro and Macro Insights – basic economic understanding.

The broad coverage of these areas allowed students to engage with different aspects of professional and employability skills.

the ILNET assessment was a useful student-development initiative. Management education requires students to develop a combination of academic knowledge, communication skills, analytical abilities, professional awareness and workplace competencies.

Conducting such assessments gives students an opportunity to step outside the conventional classroom environment and participate in an industry-oriented evaluation process.

The assessment also encouraged students to reflect upon their own preparedness for the professional world. Such initiatives can complement classroom teaching and support the Institute’s objective of developing professionally capable and industry-ready management graduates.

JDBIMS encourages its students to participate in seminars, workshops, certification programmes, industry interactions, internships and other activities that contribute towards their overall professional development. The ILNET assessment was conducted as part of this broader approach.

Student Development and Employability

Employability development is an important component of postgraduate management education. Students entering the corporate environment are expected to possess not only subject knowledge but also communication skills, problem-solving abilities, professional awareness and adaptability.

The ILNET initiative provided students with exposure to an external assessment framework and encouraged them to look at their professional development from a broader perspective.

Such initiatives can help students become more aware of the importance of continuous learning and skill enhancement. The Institute can further support students through workshops, seminars, industry interactions, professional certifications and career guidance programmes.

Conclusion

The Imarticus Learning National Employability Test (ILNET) was successfully conducted at Jankidevi Bajaj Institute of Management Studies on 24 August 2026.

With 45 students registered and all 45 students participating, the initiative received complete student participation.
